Real Madrid leads Manchester City 1-0 at Bernabéu as at first half thanks to Fernando’s own goal in the 20th minute.

Carvajal slipped a simple ball into Bale on the right of the area and the Wales forward does the rest.

He flashed a deflected right-foot shot into the top corner.

Los Blancos are through to a record 14th European Cup final.

They will meet neighbours, Atletico on May 28 in the San Siro after Fernando’s own goal was enough to see off a toothless City 1-0 on the night and 1-0 on aggregate.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL: MILAN – MAY 28

The final will be played on Saturday 28 May in Milan.

In a repeat of the 2014 Lisbon final, Real Madrid and Atlético will meet each other at the San Siro.

The 2016 Champions League final will take place in Milan on 28 May (8:45pm CEST).

Then Real Madrid will go in search of their eleventh European Cup title, against Atlético de Madrid at the San Siro.

It will be the fourth time that this stadium plays host to a European Cup final after the previous showdowns in 1965, 1970 and 2001.

It is the second time in the history of the European Cup that two sides from the same city face each other in the final.

The first of these meetings was also between Real Madrid and Atlético.

It will be a repeat of the final from two years ago, in which Real Madrid lifted the Décima in Lisbon.

Zinedine Zidane’s men will be looking to win and claim their eleventh European Cup title.

“Tonight we must enjoy the moment all together and with the fans, who were phenomenal, said Zidane.

“We haven’t won anything yet and it will be a difficult game on the 28th May.

“We need to rest up well for Sunday. That is the good thing about football, thinking about what is in front of you”.

“There are no favourites. It is a final; we both deserve to be there.

“As always at the start of a game, it will be 50/50”, he added.
