FORMER CAVS GUARD IRVING, PROVES TO BE CELTICS GOOD LUCK CHARM!
The Boston Celtics and newly acquired guard, Kyrie Irving, are in a three way tie for the top spot in the East with Detroit and Orlando.
Cleveland after losing Irving, was hoping to pick up the slack with signing all star veteran guard Dwayne Wade, but are currently in 11th place in the conference.
LeBron James rejoining his former Miami Heat team-mate, bringing back memories of Miami’s big 3 that won back to back titles in 2012 and 2013, gave Cavs fans hope after losing Irving. However D-Wade ask to come off the bench the first week of the regular season after a slow start as age is becoming a factor, and Kyrie is proving his presence in Boston as a final piece to becoming a championship contender.
Of course nobody is counting out King James and his Cavs quite yet. Playing good in terms of a title contender is not as important the 1st month the regular season as it is come May. Look for these two teams to have an interesting rivalry this NBA season with plenty of trash talking upon the horizon.
PISTONS ARE FOR REAL! RUN OVER WARRIORS AND CLIPPERS OUT WEST!
Every Season, Detroit Pistons take an early season 3 or 4 game west coast trip and every season they get beat up. This year, not the case! Dropping 1st place Clippers in L.A 95-87 and then doing the same to the defending champion Golden State Warriors in Oakland 115-.107.
The team is now waiting for lowly L.A Lakers next, at the Staples Center while being tied for 1st place in the East.
Detroit finishing 10th last season in the Eastern Conference and barley qualifying for the playoffs the previous year finishing 8th. This year the team is among the leagues best as they are currently ranked number 5 in the NBA power rankings.
Five Detroit players are averaging double figures in points per games, and as a team their averaging 109 points per game, which is also among the leagues best in scoring. Not to mention their currently in 1st place in the Eastern Conference.
Could this be a breakthrough year in Detroit? A few off season roster tweaks with Reggie Jackson playing even more impressive then ever could put the Pistons in striking distance to win the East come April.
