NBA FINALS: GAME 3 -By Michael D. Kilgore Sr.
Golden State will be bringing their brooms to game 4 of the 2017 NBA Finals in Cleveland as they look to sweep the Cavs. Having home court did help the Cavs Wednesday night. Only trailing by 6 at the half they came out tougher in the 3rd out scoring the Warriors 22-33 in the quarter.
The Cavaliers continued to battle the Warriors through the 4th. J.R Smith hitting a three with 3:10 remaining in the game, put the Cavs up six over the Warriors making it a 107-113 ball game. A little later, Kevin Durant hit a clutch 3 pointer with 45.3 seconds remaining, putting his mighty Warriors up 114-113. After with the clock winding down Klay Thompson made a huge defensive play that resulted in a failed Kyrie Irving 3. The Warriors getting a pair of Durant free throws out of it, to make it 116-113 in favour of the Warriors.
Cleveland takes the next possession down court, as we all expected the ball went to LeBron James. With 10 seconds remaining, instead of driving to the basket James was forced right, shoots a turn around three to tie but it was deflected by Andre Igodala. However the whistle blew against James for stepping out of bounds while taking the shot. As Cleveland turned the ball over at a clutch moment Golden State held on for the win. 118-113. King James fought hard as he ended the night with 39 points. Kyrie Irving had a monster night as well with 38 points for the Cavs in a losing effort. LeBron saying ‘we just need to take it one game at a time” after the game didn’t look thrilled at the podium to say the least.
The Golden State Warriors win their 15th consecutive playoff game (NBA record) as they look to become the first team to go undefeated in the NBA Playoffs by sweeping the Cleveland Cavaliers in Downtown Cleveland come game 4 of The 2017 NBA Finals.
